Sir Lawrence Bragg was a physicist and crystallographer whose work had a profound impact on science. In 1915 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics, jointly with his father Sir William Bragg, for their analysis of crystal structure by means of X-ray. Sir Lawrence worked at the University as Langworthy Professor of Physics between 1919 and 1937.
This lecture and reception is part of a day long celebration of Sir Lawrence's life and work and marks 100 years since he was awarded the Nobel Prize.
The centenary lecture will be given by fellow Nobel Laureate and Langworthy Professor of Physics Sir Kostya Novoselov. Following the lecture, there will be a reception with tea and mince pies in the Braddick Library.
